Replaced display; now nothing appears

After replacing the display nothing appears on the new display. I rechecked all connections. Nothing. I put the old display back in (it worked, but was dim before), but now it does not work either. The iPod is recognized by iTunes when plugged into the computer, and when I plug in earphones, I can play music. I have pulled everything apart four times and rechecked to make sure everything was reconnected securely. Any ideas?
