How are the display cables supposed to be routed?

History

Hi, I am re-assembling a MacBook 13 lcd screen (a1181), but I have no idea how the wifi, microphone and inverter power cables are supposed to go. Is there anywhere I can find some sort of diagram that shows where they need to be routed? To clarify, I only need to know how they need to be routed in the display assembly itself--I am having issues routing the cables under the hinge scoops, and through the clutch cover...they're getting pinched pretty badly. I have the display with three wifi cables. Thanks.

How did you get on with this issue?

wes,

Thanks for checking back, still having a problem. The real issue is where the inverter cables go (the pink and yellow cables, I believe). I thought they could go right under the lcd panel, but the clutch cover gets in the way. Maybe I'll post some pictures soon.

Evan,

There are two ways to seat the inverter cables, one is quicker but trickier - this sounds like the way you are currently trying to do. trying to plug in the inverter cables by pulling back the clutch cover. The longer, safer way is to remove the top plastic/keyboard and then release the hinges, you can then slide away the clutch cover revealing the inverter. Below is a link to the guides for the LSC mounts, including the cables for the Antenna.

wes,

Everything is actually disassembled currently, the clutch cover is off, and the hinges are disconnected, I just can't figure out where the inverter cables should run.

Evan,

Look at the left side of the clutch cover. You'll see two small slots inside the clutch cover at the end of it. In the bottom one you slide the inverter cable in and in the upper one slide the airport cable. This will give you the right cables position to reattach the clutch cover to the display assy.

Look at steps 43-44:

Hello Evan, below is a link to the A1181 Macbook guides, unfortunately I cannot see a complete teardown but you should be able to get a good idea where these cables belong. http://www.ifixit.com/Device/MacBook_Cor...

Hope this helps,

Wes
