Highly pitched whistling noise over line out after cable replacement

Hi

After my audio disappeared, I changed the audio cable on my Mac Air, as described in iFixit. However, now I can hear a highly pitched noise when connecting line out to a hifi amp.

Could it be related to the new cable? I've never noticed that before. Could it be caused by slightly changed cable crossings because of repair?
