iPhone 3G screen black

so i was changing my manager iphone 3g broken screen and i broke the led screen underneath so i ordered that and replaced it and now the screen is just black i can hear that its on when i plug it into my computer but no picture comes on. i have checked the wires and everything is good but how do i fix the black screen. also his home button is broke so i cant do a reset
