Can I replace the ZIF locking flap for the keyboard ribbon cable?

I unevenly applied too much pressure on the cable retaining flap of the ZIF socket and half of it broke off. Can I replace the little flap or is there a tip to make sure all of the keyboard contacts are made once the ribbon cable is connected? Thanks!

You cant not replace it, but i would suggest using masking tape(the not so stick white tape) and use a small piece of it to hold it down, or you could use sports tape like lacrosse tape, etc... it will work just as good. DO NOT USE GLUE!!!!! If you use hot glue it could ruin the cable etc, super glue you will never be able to take it apart again if you ever need to, and regular glue is just too bad to use. Hope all goes well, the tape should do the trick.

We replace ZIF locks all the time at my shop. Finding the replacement part is the hardest part. It's not easy but it can indeed be replaced.
