Problem with my iPod's battery, I think is dead!

History

Hi all, i have a problem with my IPOD, i already search this website and i think the problem is the battery.

When i connect my ipod to his dock, works perfectly well.. but when i try to connect it to my computer (via usb) i always receive the same message

Very low battery, please wait... but never changes!

I know that the voltage is different between the dock and the usb connection, and i believe that the problem is in the battery...

Thoughts..??

Kind regards

Vrael, I think you did all the diagnosing correct and a new battery should fix your problem. It is a straight forward task, but be careful of the clip that holds that battery cable. You do want to use a paperclip bent into a L-shape and pull gently straight up. The connector ha a tendency of breaking of the logic board. You probalby already found these, butjust in case, here are the guides http://www.ifixit.com/Device/iPod_5th_Ge... and you can get the battery at places like this http://www.ifixit.com/iPod-Parts/iPod-Vi... Hope this helps, good luck.
