Put battery in incorrectly, now DSI wont work?
I cleaned the directional buttons on my sons DSI, checked to see if they worked before putting it back together, I put the battery in the wrong way now the DSI wont work - any sugestions greatly appreciated
I'd open the dsi following the guide to the right under the photo. Remove the d- board (the little mini board that the battery sits on) turn it over and you will find the F1 fuse, check with a multimeter but I suspect the greatest damage you've done is blown that fuse. You can buy the d-board separately on ebay. I bought mine for under 5uk pounds. It's a whole heap cheaper than a new motherboard..
Yes, as Nick said, you most likely did fry your motherboard. The DSI does not have any sort of reverse polarity protection, so trying to run it with the battery in backwards will fry the motherboard. Unfortunately, you will probably need to replace the motherboard. Luckily, we have a guide for doing so right here!
Hope this helps! Good luck; let us know how it goes!
This goes along with me saying you fried the motherboard
If it's the motherboard, you should buy a DSi on ebay with a broken screen but good motherboard to fix it, this is the only way to do it fiesably
follow this to check for visible damage like burnt components, burns in the motherboard and such
if there are any burnt parts, you are propably in for a motherboard swap, however, if there is no damage, you may be in for a motherboard anyway, the damage did not create any marks
