iPod plays, charges, but won't sync to iTunes?

My iPod (5th gen video 30gb) plays fine, and charges (by wall plug or pc) but won't sync to iTunes to download more songs. My PC sees it but iTunes doesn't. Any ideas?

when your PC sees it, what does it show up as? Can you check the files on the iPod with your OS? Have you checked the Apple site and followed those recommendations http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1369 ? have you tried disk mode to see if itunes will recognize it in that mode? Have you tried a different computer or tried to reinstall iTunes? Right now it appears more of an iTunes issue than your iPod.....:-)

oldturkey03, You were right! when I did a restart of my PC I noticed an error message stating that an itunes sync ddl or dll file failed to load! So I took your advice and unstalled then reinstalled iTunes and WALLA! Everything is back to normal... Thankfully it was an easy fix. Thanks again.

I had this issue on my iPod, too, and iTunes won't work. And after turning off Apple Music on my iPod touch, all goes well. Sometimes you should do more to fix this sync problem. Such as change another USB, restart your iTunes ,iPod and computer, reconnect to Wi-Fi, or turn off iCloud Music Library on both of your PC and iPod. source: http://www.imobie.com/support/ipod-wont-...

Chosen Solution

Try using a new or different sync/charge cable. I would also check the dock connector itself for broken or dirty connectors.

Try resetting your iPod (no data is lost from device):

http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1320

If that doesn't fix it, reinstall iTunes and all its components:
