at power up screen shows the kindle fire logo and will not go anywhere else

Try performing a hard reset on your Kindle Fire: press and hold the power button for 20 seconds and then release. After the device has completely turned off, press the power button to restart your Kindle Fire. If your Kindle Fire is still unresponsive, try charging your Kindle Fire before trying to reset the device again.

I did this it worked and now I can stay up all night reading tonight lol Thank you so much!

Doing the hard reset described above worked! At another site they wanted to charge me $30 just to answer my question where I think if a product is only 8 months old it should still work. Y'all are AWESOME and I've bookmarked your site. THANK YOU!
