I have just replaced the battery in ipod touch but after reattaching the lcd the screen is white. Connects to pc and is recognized by itunes but this screen is just white. I have already tried another lcd and same result. I have tried dfu and everything else that I could think of. Restored with itunes, still white!

After screen replacement sometimes you just get a white screen. Press & hold the home button, then push the power button, continue to hold the home button til the apple comes up. This resets the new screen after placement. This step is not always necessary, but a good tip to know if you get white screen after replacement, & usually works if the new screen is a good screen that is seated and connected properly. ALWAYS test the digitizer for FULL functionality before completely reassembling as well :)

Make sure the connector is firmly attached to the board. Also make sure there isn't any dust or other stuff in the connector. And then go through the steps you did before again.
If it is still not working i would say you have a broken screen, you can get the screen here iPod touch (Gen 2) LCD.

I have a pile full of screens that are all white, i would say this problem is fairly common, just a little to much pressure in the wrong place with mess up a lcd.
