LCD Screen Faulty on 3gs, pretty sure its not connector 2

I changed the front panel today on a 3gs, turned it on to find a white messed up screen. Cannot understand as I was so careful with screen and it is a relatively simple job.

There is a small mark on the left hand corner of the screen, its shows up when screen is on or off. This must be the cause as this mark was not there before. Just cant understand how this appeared as i was very careful.

Its definitely not connector 2 as I put it back in about 10 times, after spotting the dark mark then I knew it must be that and not connector 2.

Is there any fix or do I need a new lcd screen, have seen some cheapos for £10 on ebay, will they be good enough....

You can just about see the mark in the bottom corner of the screen, it is still there when phone is off
