This Guide will assist you in dis-assembly.

Check to see if something has been damaged or perhaps something is causing the switch to stick - liquid ingress etc.

More than likely the dome switch under the button is just worn. A simple power flex cable repair will fix it.

This is a very common issue for the 6th gen. It is due to wear (pushing them) on the button. Luckily it can be fixed.
