I want to check my water indicators.

History

Hi all.

My iPhone 4s got wet the other day (not fully soaked or immersed but wet). It stopped working properly for a while but some time in a "Thirsty Bag" seems to have sorted it.

I would like to check the water ingress indicators; in case it plays up again I dont want to waste my time if the indicators have changed.

1. Where are they?

2. What do they look like a) when normal/ b) when water detected?

3. Photos would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Well I sent it to Apple and they replaced it so the question is now moot. Next time it's an Aquapac for me when out hiking.

One is in the headphone jack(check with flashlight), one in dock(flashlight) and one in the phone behind the backplate

If they are not activated, they are white, red is activated I would do the inner sensor too, but I have pentelobe screws and i am under warranty

Update

Thanks for that nickmacandpchelp.

The one next to the battery and the headphone jack are fine but the dock one is red (if I have found the right thing - about half way along the dock on the back side of the connector row?)

From the teardown, it looks like there may be another one deeper inside, which I'm not going to faff with.

Thanks again.

Update

looked at teardown too and identified them. There is one on the EMI shield, possibly display(looks like it), and one slipped in the gap by the home button...... more are likely tripped inside the phone

Update

You basically voided the warranty dropping it in water and i looked at the teardown too, way more then the 4, so there will be more activated in the phone inside
