iPhone 3GS keeps switching off randomly
Hi guy i got an iphone 3gs and it switches off randomly and when i press the power button it displays the apple logo for about 5 min or so before starting, i tried upgrading the software but that didnt solve it, it used to happen at first when the power got to 30 percent but now it happens even when fully charged, it doesnt switch off when plugged into a power source though, i read the other posts about the battery but that didnt seem to help the other guys, do you have any idea how to solve this prob? Any help will be appreciated

I remember I had a problem like this and my only cure was taking the screw out ..the one on the bottom by the vibrator
just were the battery connects..must have been a short but it worked for me. otherwise
Make sure the screws are all there..and the battery is well charged.

are you eligible for an upgrade? 99$ get you an iP4, 99 more you can get a 4s.
anywho... my device was jailbroken and i had a smilar issue, thinking it was hardware, i wiped the phone, upgraded software, and BAM stopped having issues.
good luck
How will i know if i am eligible for an upgrade? I will try the software route one more time, if that doesnt work then will move on to the battery
have you changed the battery yet? or ever? all these things you mention sound very much like a battery problem.
pollytintop,
No i have never changed it, i was reading posts by other guys who did change the battery and they still had the same prob, so is it worth trying to change the battery and what if it doesnt work?
Rahul,
Rahul, change the battery first. The iPhone gets a little weird when it has battery problems. Starting with a new battery will give you a great starting point to further trouble shoot if necessary, it will eliminate some of the guessing.
