Switching parts around two devices?

I acquired an ipod classic 6th gen 80gb ippod from my friend and he had problems with his battery, but didn't care if i tore apart his ipod. After I took it all apart, i accidentally broke the screen and bent the back cover out of shape. I also have an ipod 30gb 5th generation. Is it possible for me to take the screen, battery, and back plate from the ipod classic and replace them all with thr good parts from the 30 gb ipod? Or would it all just crash and burn? Thanks for any help :-D

Sheldon, the back cover is not compatible and neither is the screen. The cable is offset by just a few mm and will therefore not fit. Hope this helps. Luckily the parts for that particular iPod are not very expensive and easily obtainable. Good luck.
