How to reconnect #3 cable on iPhone 3GS

I replaced the front screen on my iPhone 3GS but I am having trouble getting the #3 cable to slot back in under where it came out. #1 and #2 seem to press down onto their connections whereas #3 seems to need to slide under it. Can anyone help?

Hello,

The #3 connector has a little black or white tab on the side opposite where you slide in the connector. You need to gently lift this tab, and then slide in the connector. Without this tab lifted, it wont accept the connection. Once the connector is inserted, press the tab down and it will be secure.

Hope this helps,

I did figure that out and got it connected - now the phone will not power up when it is put back together. What most likely did I leave undone?

If you have it connected and the phone will not power up, it may in fact still be the same connection. If it is loose/not done properly, the screen will not turn on. It's happened to me a million times- take it apart again and retry the #3. Make sure it is in far enough (but not too far).
