Replace Polycarbonate shell with aluminum case

History

Is it possible to replace the poly carbonate shell on a Macbook a1342 with the aluminum case of a a1278, as far as connectors and internals fitting?

Hypothetically all things are possible. In the realm of reality with a lot of unorthodox ingenuity it could be done. However with the effort required to make such a thing happen I don't consider it feasible to try.

You would have to grind down all existing mounting towers for the screws and re-establish new ones in the appropriate places. After that you would need to customize the keyboard situation and LCD mounting. The keyboard part is the biggest killer, followed behind by establishing where the screws will mount.
