second SATA drive

History

I saw this post just after asking the same question !

But if the "Dual Hard Drive Kit" provided by iFixit is capable of plugging a second SATA drive with a specific cable, could not the same cable (or a close cousin) be used to connect a DVD drive ?

And how bad is the angling needed to slide in the logic board when the optical drive bracket is present ? Does it brake anything or is it manageable ?

Likely, the best solution would be for iFixit to provide an "Optical Drive Upgrade Kit", as they did with their "Dual Hard Drive Kit"...

Anybody listening here ? ;-)

There's room for a hard drive but not an optical drive.
