Windows 2K or XP?
I got this at a yardsale for 2$(from 5$, I was NOT paying that for junk as it is!)
As it stands, it has 64MB of memory, 4GB HDD, CD-ROM, AMD K63D 350MHZ
I am not using for junkfest, will have to invest a fair amount into it, unless I get it free or cheap
I had to dust it out because they never did as far as I can tell
OK, back to the question
Windows 2K or XP?
Yes, I know it needs upgrades!
I also found something cool out, the school tech at my middle school sold it to me!
good news!
I found out this passes as is!(2K)
Memory is at the suggested level, harddrive is bigger!
Printer should work(BJC-4300)!
I even got the restore CD, which is rare to get so if anything goes wrong, go back to 98;)
Still a bad idea?
safe to get XP yet?
Now it has 128MB memory in it, same 4GB HDD

Windows 2K (Or 98 if you have it). XP needs more than 64MB of RAM (It's not impossible, but it will be ridiculously slow) I would recommend Windows 98 over 2000 if you have it, but Windows 2000 should run on 64MB of RAM.
I have 98 on it now, ant it said 64MB recommend on Microsoft's website, not adding XP, it ,may be too much for it
nick,
+Agree with Chris Green on this. I'd prefer 2K since I do find it a bit more stable...but that is personal preference I think.
I upgraded it to 128MB, the max it can take, installed 2K and do not miss 98 at all, heck, I may have first edition, mainly because I got the restore CD
nick,
Get opinions on how to go with it, keep 98 or upgrade to 2K/XP, it's a desktop
