Asked

won't identify 2x 4 GB RAM

History

I have installed two Kingston KTA-MB1066/4G DDR3-1066 PC3-8500 SO-DIMM 4GB Memory Modules in a Mac mini (late 2009) 2,53 GHz, recent EFI Firmware, Mac OSX 10.6.8,

but the Mac mini can't identify the memory and I get beeps.

Clearing PRAM, changing, switching RAM, nothing helps. Also Kingston KVR1066D3S7/4G Memory Modules won't work. The Apple Support Article HT4432 confirms max. memory up to 8 GB.

Every help is appreciated.

How many beeps?

mayer,

This Mini Model just work max. with 2x 2GB Modules

I don't know how many beeps because I shut down the Mac mini after the second or third beep. The gap between the beeps is about two seconds.
