I replaced the HD but it wont work

History

I replaced the HD in my 06' macbook pro but it says that mac OSX can't be installed on this location. How do I get mac OSX onto my new drive?

Most drives are shipped with NTFS (Windows) compatible partitions. If you haven't formatted the drive, just boot into the Install disk and go to disk utilities. There chose your partition scheme and use GUID Partition Table and format to HFS (Journaled) and you should be good to go.
