Here's the teardown I did on this keyboard: Apple Wireless Keyboard (A1255) Teardown

As you can see, there's nothing you can do to fix a water damaged keyboard. I would remove the batteries and let it sit for a week and hope the short is not permanent.

Not so - I am typing on an Apple Wireless Keyboard (A1314). The older model A1255 may have been assembled differently but with current keyboards you should definitely try. A month ago it was out of action with tea spilt on it, about half the keys not responding and all feeling sticky. I got the white plastic plate off the base by prying carefully, removed the electronics through the single screw under the plastic cover and put the key assembly in the dishwasher. It got four weeks to dry, I just assembled it and it's working with the action feeling like new. The aluminium needed a little metal polish rubbed on it (Silvo) to make it look good again after being in the dishwasher but if I had thought to use a low-heat cycle it probably would not have needed that either.

The tear down link goes nowhere.
