Are MBP A1150 and UMBP fans physically the same?

I have a A1150 MBP its old but does the job,

i replaced the screen with a 1680*1050 screen

but thew rest is stock

the mbp runs hot and the fans are half dead

they go to 3k rpm and make crunching noise (something is broken there)

anyway

i checked ebay and the fans look identical

physically

but i read the connector is different

it not a problem to re-solder the connector

so the question is, are they PHYSICALLY the same?

ie the distance between the screws and the WHL dimensions

thanks!

ps: i would just repalce them if i had a spare UMBP :)

also the price is about 10$ lower than the old fans

Not a direct answer to you question, though a direct answer to your problem. Peel back the paper on your fans and put a drop or 2 of 3-N-! oil in the exposed hole. Reseat the paper covering and/or put a piece of tape over the fan bearing. I have repaired hundreds of noisy computer/laptop fans this way.

Just get the correct part. You're going to have the wrong connector and after soldering the old one on it may not work. Personally I put in new fans as the used ones on eBay usually already have a lot of use already.
