Why are there horizontal lines on monitor

History

My ipod nano 2nd gen suddenly has horizontal lines going across the screen which renders the menu options unreadable. I hooked it up to itunes and reset it to the factory settings but it made no difference. I had this hooked up to my car's audio system when the problem started. Any ideas?

The screen may be bad, take your nano apart and see if the screen is connected well, if it is, the screen is bad
