Screen brightness blinking sometimes

History

Screen brightness flickering time by time.

Mostly working fine, but at night time flickering like monitor

deeming before go for sleep. Any ideas?

go to system prefereces and then displays under hardware. and uncheck the box that automatically adjusts brightness

just checked my laptop- did not have automatic brightness control at all. Nothing to uncheck. My is pretty old- 2006 Core Duo, so I think laptop did not have ambient light sensor.
