Does not start up after battery and hold switch is replaced?

History

I purchased this iPod knowing that the battery was bad. After about a month of usage I finally decided to purchase a new battery. When I got it in I followed the detailed instructions on replacement. As I was detaching my old battery I had noticed that it had been leaking and damaged my hold switch ribbon. So I ordered a new one of those too. As I was putting it all back together and plugged my data/charging cable to it nothing happened. Not a start up screen nothing. I did try to reboot, went back in and rechecked all connections and still nothing. Is it possible my logic board was damaged? It was working before I took it all apart. Only as long as it was plugged in. Please HELP! (As Im beating my head)

The logicboard could of been damaged in the process

You changed the battery already, we can knock that off the troubleshooting list

Try a different data cable and report back

They have changed every part in the iPod, that is the only thing I could think of at this point
