Sony dsc-f717 needs a new CCD sensor
can anyone tell me if a CCD sensor replacement is easy enough to do if I already have the new replacement part, the camera is a Sony DSC-F717.

janner929, this is a depends answer. It depends on how comfortable you are in taking small stuff apart and it depends on your patience. You can download the complete service manual from my fileserver Take a look at it and see if that is something you are willing to tackle. It does look doable ;-) Hope this helps, good luck.

Hi oldturkey03, I dug out my F717 today for the first time since 2010, when I got the CCD replaced under a Sony recall. I disappointingly found it appears the sensor has gone kaput again!
Do you still have the F717 service manual available?
