What kind of glue Apple uses in iPhones?
I'd like to know what kind of glue Apple uses to stick the bezel to rear housing. They dont use epoxy, Apple uses a light blue adhesive the same that used to glue the touch screen. I mean, I know the touch screen is sticked with de 3M stikers, but they uses a little bit of this kind of glue to strengthen it.
I know this same question was made several times but it seems that nobody knows what exactly this glue is?
It is not an epoxy one, this glue is soft, strong and can easly be removed with the heat gun.

Did you try looking at Locktite 242. It's extremely pliable yet can handle constant vibration without cracking or loosening. Which are all desirable qualities when dealing with mobile products that have tendency to be banged around or even dropped.
I'd love to know this... the glues I've used don't give a good finished look when you replace the rear housing.
pollytintop,
I found this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Ruderer-L5... What do you think? I guess is more easy for you to test it since I live in Argentina. LEt me know please... Thank you
macpatagon,
it's interesting! think it'd be good for digitiser, but I don't think it's what you wanted it for.. the bezel. I'm try "no more nails" by unibond..dries clear, but not sure it gives a strong enough bond. wasn't happy with the last glue
pollytintop,
i think we're looking for a silica based glue.
pollytintop,
I agree. I found in modmyi.com, a comment about using a silicone gasket, and i saw this http://www.permatex.com/products/Automot...
macpatagon,
Actually it is not a glue, but is not a bad idea.
macpatagon,
this is the link where I found the user experience: http://modmyi.com/forums/hardware/707790...
macpatagon,
that actually looks pretty good. I found it for £4 on ebay uk... think i might give it a shot. I'll let you know. Can you find it near you? I googled permatex and got an ebay hit which is an auto parts seller..maybe something like that in argentina surely? permatex is a worldwide company so should have some distribution nearby
pollytintop,
I will look for it
macpatagon,
I've tried with permatex but no luck, is toxic, and I don't like the final result. I'm still looking for this...
