dropout and crackling sound on itunes or dvd
hi there, hope anybody knows about this problem.
while playing any music or film on itunes or dvd the sound jumps and has amost permanently dropouts. when playing utube videos, no problem occures and the sound is playing fine.

Open it up and check your connections to the sound board. It may also need to be replaced. Here's how: Installing PowerBook G4 Aluminum 17" 1-1.67 GHz Sound Card
You can try doing just a reinstall of iTunes from your system installation disk. Give it a try and then try running Software update to the latest version and let us know it the problem persists
hello mayer , thank you for the answere.yes, i thought about this already, but the the sound is perfectly fine when i watch utube videos or online clips. so shouldnt it have the same problem while i am on utube? i was speculating about the harddisc, since most programs run of the disc and its almost as if its jumping while playing music or dvd. im open for any consideration. thanks

hello mayer. after deinstalling itunes already quicktime was running fine. installed the newest version of itunes , now everything runs smooth and perfect so far. thanks again for your help!

hello mayer. after starting the book several times this week the problem reoccured. strangly, since it was running fine for a few days but now the problem is back... its the same story all over again . but now i erased itunes completly , but it hasnt changed . looking videos on u tube or the like is perfectly fine. so i ran a maccleaner over the system , but still no difference, problem with quicktimemusic or movies or any of the realplayers or vlc etc still have the dropouts. ???? leaves me wondering. thanks for any advice.

cleaned and ran norton over it. still no difference. i noticed that all videoclips on either (quicktime, itunes or mp streamclip ...and alsotried a few other programms) run too fast while playback. almost as if the samplerate is different. know similar effects when 44,1 and 48 are not right. is there a way i can check the rate on my computer?
