When in music and playing a playlist the fast forward and the back buttons will light up and activate without me touching them at all. Thought it was the screen protector and removed it, but it is still happening. In order for me to listen to a full song, I have to change the screen to home.

It could be a variety of problems, most likely a bad screen but before spending an absurd amount of money for a replacement screen, I'd suggest to reboot it, (hold down the sleep/wake and home buttons until the Apple logo appears on the screen) and if that doesn't work plug it into your computer and restore it. If none of that works, the only advice I can give is to replace the screen.
