Disable the magnetic Sensor

Hi

I have a broken MacBook pro, which I will use as a server. (only display is broken).

Where exactly is the sensor located that senses the magnet in the display assembly?

This way, I could close the lid and prevent it from going to sleep, without using some software.

Thank in advance

Fabio

It would be easier to take out the magnet from the dislay. Remove the surround to access. The sensor is under the keyboard on the right hand side around the corner from the ower button if you should decide to tackle that instead but as it is wired you would have to decide how to disable it. BTW you robably noticed my Macbook keyboard has a few keys out of action...

Hi,

I broken the flex cable near the hard drive. I guess it is about lid sensor because macbook goes to sleep everytime. When I connect it to an external monitor, it works OK..

How do I disable the lid sensor with software?

Thanks,

Celil
