Why do I have a white on black background?

History

After replacing the touch screen on a second generation iTouch I have a white on black background, from what I read this should not even be an option on a second generation iTouch. Plus it is very hard to see and the display is predominately white. How can I fix this?

Have you tried a reset?

Chris,

I did try to reset, at least twice. I will try checking and cleaning the connections. I bought the iTouch with the broken screen. It initially came up with a white background and a black Apple Icon.

Hold the top and bottom buttons at the same time until an Apple logo appears. This will perform a soft reset. If that doesn't work, there is probably something wrong with the connection to the screen. I'd recommend taking it out, blowing a little compressed air over the connections, then re-installing it.

Hope this helps.
