Replacement cable MB+MBP 13" Can I install on MBP 17?

Have damaged magsafe cable for '07 Macbook Pro 17. The cable is shredding just before and including the sheathing right at the magnate. If I mess with it long enough, I can usually manage to get it to light up and start charging. And I cannot move the brick, cable or comp at all. Very touchy.

I found a new replacement cable on ebay for $20. But it was for a 60w 13" MB+MBP. Didn't see any 85w cables listed. Would it hold-up on an 85w brick? Is there a major difference in the wire gauge used in a 60 or 85w brick?

Thanks for any info!

IIRC your unit will not function correctly with a 60w adapter. It may not even boot. I would recommend you keep looking until you find a 85w adapter. They are out there--probably not for $20 though. Good luck.

Here is a link to google page with many choices.
