Is my error 29 caused by incompatible APN 616-0431?

Hi There,

i have a 3GS with a "APN 616-0347".

Via Ebay i got an "APN 616-0431".

But now i got Error 29.

If i use the "APN 616-0347" it works.

But in any case of problem i get Error 29.

Where can i buy a "APN 616-0347"?

Or is APN 616-0435 working?

I heared in some cases it wont work...

Are there any compare lists?

Org. APN=> Exchange APN?

Thanks for any help.

Ok i tested it myself. If you have a "APN 616-0347" you cant use a

APN 616-0431, APN 616-0435. My iphone rebbots every 5min with the "435" and with the "431" you cant install any firmware >4.3x.

My last try is to get a real "APN 616-0347". I ordered if in UK and this is usually a 3G battery. But APN and VPN are correct...and

i really have a 3Gs. So apple sold the 3gs with 3G battery and force the users to buy the right one... I think my next phone will be android again.

if you still have the batteries take a look at back of the pin section, some are a straight wiring, some are curly (very technical term) i think this has something to do with the compatibility.... maybe that later 3g batteries are in fact 3gs batteries who knows...this is apple!

I have done some extensive testing with these batteries. APN 616-0431 causes the error 29. In all my testing APN 616-0435 worked every time and never give me an error 29. Unfortunately, I have not tested the APN 616-437 at this time, so I can't give you any input on those.

The 3GS batteries we sell are APN 616-0435.

Just recently got an error 29 with battery 616-0435, switched it with another of the same model and it worked just fine.

It's worth noting that the APN alone doesn't [necessarily] seem to be the cause of this from my experience. I have a 616-0435 battery purchased from ebay which caused the error 29 message in my iPhone 3GS, however the ifixit (same APN) replacement battery fixed the issue.

This is a different issue than the error 29. This problem is usually caused by a bad battery or software. Please start your own question for your issue.

It is error29 while trying to update on 4.3.3 and i kick it from boot logo with redsn0w0.9.6rc11 but it keeps restarting all the time now, it must be the battery problem

hi all,

ive got the same issue, as yet i have not looked at my battery but can be certain its not the 437.

i upgraded my firmware to 4.3.3 and baseband 06.15, it worked for a little while but now iphone constantly restarts and i get errors 21 and 29.

ive looked for solutions and i think its down to battery although apple error page also says it could be a security file on the iphone?.

i was going to use tinyumbrella but it does not support 4.3.3 so guess im stuck....

this is the best place to get the 3GS Battery for a good price. Must be serial 616-0431 and nothing else. They're reliable and ship fast!
