iPhone Has no sound

History

My iPhone 3Gs has no sound I do have sound though when my headphones are in but thats all... I just replaced the flexi cable but still no sound.. I also downgraded the phone to 4.1 which the phone also runs 6.15bb If I was to have the phone in a docking station it works fine I can play music or if the headphones are installed... but with out them I have nothing Phone works perfectly I have also tried the inserting the headphone in and out numerous times but no luck... please help...

When you click the volume buttons, does it say headphone mode?

You said that you replaced the flex cable? Are you talking about the #3 ribbon? If so, then there is a high probability that you have a defective or damaged flex ribbon. These ribbons are real fragile and they have poor quality control when it comes to producing them. When I change them out for customers, it isnt uncommon to come across a bad one. Retry a new one and see if that helps it. I've made a guide to help people install these carefully. Check it out.

look at screen replacement video online to find ribbon #3. Its loose in the connector
