White screen after cleaning lcd

So after i changed my light proximity sensor which worked great. i tested it out the sound etc. it worked i saw some dust and i was i thought i can clean that dust out of the lcd.

so i followed the dissasemmbly guide, i did it and then bam i revert everything set it up. turn it on. white screen.. ok hard reset, sleep+home, turn on, NO BOOTLOGO?!!

done booting white screen..

reopen clean everything blowing into it, clean with denaturated alcholo better than IPA cuz its 96%.

same as before still white screen..

I try to unlock while white screen and that also does not work, no sound of unlocking :(

so should i change the digitizer or lcd display itself or can i fix it without anything?

why do i always fail if i repair something i damage something.

now i change the sensor and now i break the lcd..

i really should stop doing more things than needed.

The easy fix for White Screen is Hard Reset, which you tried and it did not fix. Therefore the next step is new LCD. Hopefully it is not Logic Board Chip. Try new LCD.

A common cause for LCD problems with 3gs is connecting LCD Flex Cable #1 with the iPhone Powered On. When you get your new LCD make sure the iPhone is OFF before connecting it. Good luck. Brad

it'd be pretty unlucky to break the LCD and the digitiser? he says that didn't respond either? I'd try reseating the cables again (again I know but sometimes you get lucky)

yeh i retried it 10 times.. like 2 hours long i just gave up so..

i dont think the digitizer broke, it doesnt respond but that might be because of the lcd.

and when i changed the speaker i forgot to turn it off and reassembled everything and everything worked. 2nd time i did turn it off but that was also the time i got white screens L:(

if you have phone turned on you connect you !&! up your lcd?

that isnt right?

cuz if you do you need to connect it otherwise you cant turn it off..

but rlly i need a new lcd? that freaking sukz

Hopefully it is just the LCD and not the Logic Board which is damaged. Iphone 3gs should be OFF when connecting LCD to Logic Board or you risk damaging LCD or LCD chips. If your vibrate switch and motor work, flip the switch to see if iPhone is OFF. If not, turn iPhone OFF. To turn OFF you can dissconnect and then reconnect Flex Cable 4 I believe. Or complete circuit on Home Button Pads while pressing Power Button for a couple of seconds. Again check with Vibrate switch to verify OFF, or possibly use iTunes if Vibrate is broken to verify iPhone is OFF. Problem with iTunes is that when connecting iPhone to computer it will definitely turn ON and then you will have to turn it OFF.

i already tried a hard reset :(

i hope its only the lcd.

i reassembled everything..

and it was off while reassembling, but i damaged it someway?

luckily lcd is only 20$ here.

vibrate motor etc everything still works, except the lcd.

the thing i am worried about is that the logic board died becuase there is NO bootup logo..

and it takes 1 minute to recover from hardboot and then goes to white screen.

but if the logic board died why does itunes, still synch backup everything. also can extract the pictures..

The same thing has just happened to me with my old iPhone 3GS, i tried to change out the home button circuit since the home button doesn't work and at the time the phone was switch on and then the white screen just appeared as soon I opened up the phone and lifted the screen . I'm really hoping I've not fried the mainboard/logic board of the phone and that it is just a new lcd that it needs because the phone does vibrate when I put the phone on silent and I can here the charge sound when connecting it to power source.

Sorry for my bad grammar
