What are the reasons for my replacement digitizer to not function?

History

I cracked my digitizer, and decided to fix it myself. I followed the guide on this site and after reassembling th phone, the digitizer was non responsive. I wanted to know what the different reasons could be for it to not work.

  1. Bad digitizer.
  2. Bad connection.
  3. Bad motherboard.

hopefully it's just simply not connected properly, it'd definitely be worth it to double-check that the connector is seated well.
