Why won't it pick up a charge?

My iBook g4 won't take a charge. I have plugged it in to many different outlets and it wont pick it up. What happens is I will have to unplug my charger and eventually my computer will die, and then when I try to plug it in again it won't work. I bought a new charger for it and it still wouldn't work. I dont think anything is wrong with the computer because the light on the outside will continue to pulse until it completely dies. I just don't know what to do.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Megan,

Have you tried a new battery? The next time you have it on, try to check your battery's health. iStat Pro is a great dashboard widget that gives you a lot of information on your computer... including battery health.

iFixit appears to only carry the 14-inch battery.

It sounds like you could have an issue with your DC-in board... but that's step number two. It could be your battery connector or even your logic board.

Check your battery health with iStat Pro, then try the battery, then try the DC-in board and then come back here if it's still not working.

Choose one depending on which iBook G4 you have: 14 or 12 inch.
