No Airport Card Installed error
Hi all, I installed an updated wifi 'N' speed card to my A1150 last week and WiFi worked fine.
I then updated my RAM and added a 1Gb chip from Crucial.
The moment the memory was added my WiFi stopped responding. On the top bar I have the "No Airport Card Installed" message.
If I reset PRAM it reappears... Until next reboot. I've tried everything to get this WiFi working. I've deleted my library/preferences files, taken out the Airport card and replaced it with my old chip (which only has a wifi radius of around 1m) and the old chip works fine (so long as you're no more than two feet from the router).
I've tried running /usr/sbin/networksetup -listallhardwareports
in Terminal and it does not list Airport.
If I run /usr/sbin/networksetup -setairportpower en1 on
I return the error:
"Could not find hardware port or device named en1.
Wireless is not available."
I've read so many posts about the "No Airport Card Installed" error and most say to reset PRAM once and it will be fine. For me I have to do this each time I reboot and that can't be healthy for the laptop.
Any advice would be greatly received.
Neil
