Changing HDD 5400rpm to 10000rpm in MacBook Pro (15-inch, Early 2011)

Discussion Topic

History

It's necessary to change HDD 500GB Serial ATA 5400 rpm to HDD 600GB Serial ATA 10000 rpm in MacBook Pro (15-inch, Early 2011)

The size of HDD 500GB Serial ATA 5400 rpm is 69.85 x 9.5 x 100.35 mm.

The size of HDD 600GB Serial ATA 10000 rpm is 69.85 x 15.0 x 100.35 mm.

These HDD differ on a height on 5.5 mm. Is there such supply on a height in the case Macbook Pro?

Thanks

How does this answer the PO's question?

Majesty,

Maj - to me the question was about the acceptable height of the drive. Maybe you read it differently, but your comment states differently. So you really had no reason to downvote me. whatever

No, you cannot install a drive taller than 9.5 mm in the MacBook Pro.

In certain models you can squeeze a 12.5MM drive, but definitely not a 15MM tall drive. +
