Back of DSi XL - power adapter recepticle broken

My son jumped on the DSI XL and bent the port the power cord plugs into. It can no longer charge. What do I need to replace?

You can either change the whole board on the DS, but the cost of this doesn't make sense. You are better off replacing the jack and leaving it at that. You can see how to remove the board here: Nintendo DSi XL Motherboard Replacement

The jack can be found on eBay very easily, but due to the timing of auctions expiring I do not want to look up anything. Look up "DSi XL power jack" and you'll come across the part. Sometimes you can get a 2 for 1 deal if you look.

Also, check for cracks and trace damage, too. This is a common issue with damaged ports in general. NOTE: ABCellars is responsible for the information on checking for cracks and trace damage. I simply added this to my answer to consolidate it seeing as it's useful advice.

Besides changing the jack you will want to inspect the motherboard for cracks and/or broken traces with a magnifying glass.
