Asked

Part number and source for display?

History

Anyone

a) know the part number for the display

or

b) know a good source that doesn't charge $150 to steal my money via western union?

Been looking all over and you'd think with it being such a popular product there'd be a demand.

Try at AliExpress.com. Search for "Kindle Display". They sell it from US$ 60 to US$ 120 each (P/N ED060SC7):

I bought one myself and changed it - my Kindle is back to life again...

They don't sell the part but they repair it for you here.

If you don't have the 3G model, I honestly don't think its even worth it.

EDIT: What I can think of is buying a broken as-is kindle off of ebay (With a working display) then use that and switch em. Here are some that look like they'd be up for a frankenstein-ing

Haha- converse of my actual idea, which was buy the ones fine but WITH broken screen.

Here is a cheaper source for replacing your kindle 3: http://www.mylcdtouchscreen.com/amazon-k...

I ordered one for my cracked kindle 3 screen, thanks to the guides on youtube the replacement was not very hard, took around half an hour, now my kinlde working like new again.
