sound problem from headphone jack and docking station

History

my 4 years old ipod video was plugged in Altec Lansing iM7 when sound started crackling. first i thought it was im7 problem but when i plugged headphones in ipod the sound problem stayed with ipod. the problem is starting after 3-4 minutes after playing music. even if music is not playing or volume is very low crackling noises are still there and very loud.

please help

Well, unfortunately, replacing the headphone jack will not fix this problem probably.. usually you will need to replace the motherboard to fix this problem.
