DVD doors won't open

History

I have two DVD burner in my macpro.

How do you replace the door mechanism?

I have to block them in open position for me to use my DVDs.

I would like to change them.

I have a spare door assembly ready to go. But I do not know how to do it.

I ran into this when adding a second optical drive. I reseated the drives and made sure they were aligned properly and the doors started working.
