Removing the click wheel

History

I need to replace my click wheel on my ipod and I have another one to use for parts. I looked at the teardown of the 5th generation and not sure how the click wheel is removed. Does is just snap out or do you have to rotate right or left before it pops out?

in step 8 of the teardown, it definitely looks like rotating it would be the way to go. from the position of the spudger, I'm guessing clockwise?

No luck .. I can't see how you can turn the click-wheel to get it out..

But after having taken it apart, I fund out that it is

<< glued and held in place by a metal clip on the bottom >>>

if you open the iPod and slide the mainbord down by 1 mm the wheel will be mechanically released than its just the glue you have to beat ..
