My laptop shuts down after 10 to 20 minutes

History

after ten minutes of running the computer shuts down,after i hit the power button it then turns back on and stays on,what could the problem be?

At its age, it's most likely overheating. If it were mine, I'd do major surgery and clean it down to the heat sinks. The heat sink vents are probably clogged. I'd also replace the thermal paste and blow out the fans. Go here and select your Book: [[Family:PowerBook_G4_Aluminum#familyNavigation]]
