Can I replace upper case with MacBook Pro one?

History

I have a water damaged Macbook A1278 from early 2009, diagnosed as needing a new upper case (am cleaning as per my previous question).

Can I install the upper case from a Macbook Pro?

I'm pretty sure you can't, do to trackpad connections, etc., however you can get the proper part here.
