Not another iPhone white screen problem!, but sorry I have one.
i tried to reset it by holding down both buttons and waiting for it to start up and there's still the white screen. whenever i turn on the iphone, even though there is a white screen, i can unlock it and the unlocking sound indicates it when i touch and slide where the unlock button is located according to memory. to make it more descriptive, i uploaded a video of the problem with a link here. i would be really grateful if you know whats exactly the problem and with a solution. i might even upload further videos to better help you see the problem with this iphone. please help me fix it.

if the phone is still in warranty and you have not opened it before, just take it back to apple, to get it replaced/repair
if it is not under warranty anymore, just order a new screen and replace it.
here is the guide: Installing iPhone 3GS Display
let us know, if any success...
are you sure that i just need to replace the screen? did you check my youtube uploaded video out in the link which i provided there?
no, i am not sure. as you did not give us any useful informations. did you ever open the phone and attempt any repairs? if it suffered a fall, it might have been damaged. some coil inside could have been damaged. but my guess would be faulty screen. digitiser works, as you can use it and it is confirmed to be working. can you ask any of your friends, to try to use their screen assembly and just fit it instead of yours? and yes, i have checked the video...
i did drop it once. it seemed alright as soon as i checked to see what might have gone wrong. but some time after that the screen seemed unclear, almost sort of foggy/cloudy and shaking/shimmer

I also had this white screen on my 3gs, but I had opened my phone so im quite sure I damaged it myself. when starting up, the phone turned completely white after the apple logo. My fix; I replaced connector number 3. Try replacing the screen as palokiller suggested.. I searched for an answer for days when I had this problem, what I found was that white screen can occur for many reasons, so its hard to tell what has been damaged. Try replacing parts one by one:) If you or anyone else have a spare minute, I need an answer to this question;
