Why is my internal speaker so low?

I have the volume all the way up, volume limit set to off and all settings seem to be right. I restored in iTunes in dfu mode and set up as new iPod. Is there anyway my full body protector could be causing this (Zagg skin)

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Rob,

The skin is going to cause your volume to be slightly less that it already was. Those tiny speakers are just not built for volume. Try removing the skin and see if you are back up to normal volume. I use a hard case on mine as it resonates and sound passes through the end at the docking port. It still muffles it a bit but I can hear it for reference. Other than reference I use the ear buds so really don't have the speaker in use too much. Please let us know what you find out.
