But my digitizer and glass are broken.

I have bought a replacement Glass, digitizer, lcd set.

But it is smarter to turn the iphone off before repair. (to prevent short circuit)

How can i turn my iphone off without the digitizer?

How that someone can help me.

Thanks for your answers.

I got it off without using the touchscreen.

I have holded the power and home button at the same time for about 8 seconds, and as soon as the screen turns off, i released the buttons.

Now it is off, and i can turn it on with the power button.

(YES) you can turn off the phone without the digitiser, press the power button a the home button together for 8 to 10 seconds, this will either switch the phone off, or take you to a black screen with a apple on it.

if you get the Apple i the middle of a black screen then just hold both power ad home button of another 8-10 seconds

thought remember that the battery goes in to this phone before the motherboard; simply meaning that there will always be power going through the board, even if the phone appears to be off

Alas, a mystery I have spent many hours trying to figure out. Unfortunately for us both, I have come to believe there may be no way, except waiting for the battery to run out. The good new is, I have taken apart hundreds of iPhones that were turned on while I worked on them, and never had one break because of it.

When taking off the front panel, you never touch any electronics so that part is safe. Once that part is done take out all of the screws holding down the logic boards, the lift it up (even an 1/8 of an inch) to disconnect it from the logic board. Like I said I have never broken a phone by opening it when it was on, but as with all electronics it is smart to keep metal away from metal.

Press vol up and down then hold power, but the key is to hold the power button for 20 seconds and it will turn off, turn back on, and while it's turning off it will shut down, and it will not turn on again
